Peter Lousada pointed out by email on 10 Apr 2015 that the title of Marchese de San Miniato that was bestowed by the Grand Duke of Tuscany upon Francis Lousada in 1846 was thought to have been paid for while the recipient’s wife Marian Wolseley was a lady-in-waiting to the Grand Duchess in London – where it was announced; and see notes below extracted from a newspaper contained in the 2nd Duke's Paris papers.

Francis Lousada was Her Majesty's Consul for Rhode Island and Massachusetts when he died in Boston in 1870. There are many records of his exploits as HM Consul in Boston in UK National Archives.

Ref 85 shows him to have been at St Paul's School 11 Apr 1825 aged 11.
