Another wife of Ignasz Fischl #1409
Extract from Dena Jenkin's 17 Sep 2020 email:
Hello I think this is important.
A man send me a letter years ago. He was Hungarian and very educated. I had
written to him because he mentioned something on the internet about a Ignaz
Fischl.
Of course there were so many Ignaz Fischl's because they were named after Issac
Fischl my 5th great grandfather,
This is what he wrote to me. He said Ignaz Fischl married a relative of his.
He married Rose Rosenfeld (born 1855) her father was was Jacob Rosenfeld, born
1815. Jacob was a very rich man and Ignaz was rather less so. Rose feel in love
with Ignaz Fischl, and him being a rather kind a clever fellow. She loved him
even beyond his death.
Jacob gave Ignaz a sufficient amount of money to hire the estate of counts Zichy
in the small village of Kokad. Ignaz was a hard working man and quickly became
rich. In ten years time bought the Tased estate and the family moved to
Nagyle'ta to the stately home of the Stunberger's.
They had three children Paula (Stein) born 1885 who wrote the history of the
Rosenfelds, Lajos and Erno (Member of Parliament for the town of Bihar Nagybajom.
His son Istvan (Stephan) Letay became well known in the banking world and a
friend of the family Worthy. He became blind. Paula described the peasants in
Kokad and their nightly singing.
Paula Stein had a daughter Kato who spend long years in bed, Lajos had a son
Zoltan and a daughter Anne.
This man who wrote to me possessed a book that Paula wrote....50 odd pages
called " Our family In Dressing Gowns and Thales and Tuxedoes''.
I believe this man really knew what he was talking about and had the book.
What do you think
Paula Stein was probably not a natural daughter of Ignasz Fischl #1409 but a step-daughter - most likely the daughter of Roza Rosenfeld. Ref 31 describes a natural daughter (Paula Strausz) of Ignasz Fischl #1409.
Ref 31 describes Erno #401 and his son Istvan #220 in unmistakably similar terms.
