Vancouver West End wordpress
https://westendvancouver.wordpress.comDonald Bain Finlayson was an accountant. He lived at 743 Denman Street in 1906.
He was born in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia, on November 25, 1861. His father was Donald Finlayson; his mother was Christina Bain.
He married Margarita (Rita) Montefiore, probably in Australia. Rita was born on March 19, 1881, in Toowong, Brisbane, Australia. Her father was Arthur Montefiore; her mother was Sophia Louise Forbes.
Donald first appeared in the Vancouver directories in 1905. He was an accountant at 24 West Cordova Street, which was the location of Fife and Hunter Hardware. He was living at 1900 Barclay Street, which was the home of Henry McDowell, a druggist.
It appears that the rest of the family arrived in Vancouver in 1905, perhaps somewhat later than Donald, since the immigration documents listed Rita as the "lady" of the family, along with her son, Donald (age 11), daughter, Joan (age 6), and son, Colin, age 3).
By 1906, Donald had moved to 743 Denman Street; he was still an accountant at 24 West Cordova Street.
In 1907, the family had moved to 1248 Nelson Street, where they stayed for many years. George was now the secretary of the George Hunter Hardware Company Ltd.
By 1910, he was the secretary-treasurer of Martin, Finlayson and Mather, Ltd, the successors to the George Hunter Hardware Company.
In 1914, Donald and Rita were in the Vancouver Social Directory and Club Register. They were still at 1248 Nelson Street. Rita's receiving day was the fourth Wednesday of the month.
In November 1918, Donald enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He was in his mid-50s by then, and it is unlikely that he saw any combat.
After the war, he remained in Vancouver. He died in Vancouver on April 30, 1947. He was buried in the soldiers' section at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.
Rita died in Vancouver on August 25, 1947. She was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.

On June 29, 1929, in Vancouver, he married Alma Muriel Boddy. She was born in Carnduff, Saskatchewan, on March 27, 1895. Her father was Robert Brittain Boddy; her mother was Barbara Sutherland.
Donald died in Vancouver on February 10, 1965.
Colin Herbert Bain Finlayson was born on January 24, 1903, in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia. He was a member of the Vancouver Rowing Club, and was part of the team that won a silver medal for rowing in the coxless fours in the 1924 Olympics in Paris.
On September 3, 1927, in Vancouver, Colin married Hester Edith Delhi-Force Tytler. Her father was Stanley Delhi-Force Tytler (1857-1948); her mother was Hester Ellen Mellhuish (1878-1968).
In 1951, Colin moved to Kemano, British Columbia. He was working for BC. International Engineering. While he was in Kemano, he was active in the Boy Scouts.

This suggest a son with second name Arthur and not Ralph.
For this person there is a FreeBMD entry
Deaths Dec 1956 MONTEFIORE Herbert A 75 Romford 5a 463
Making Herbert Arthur born 1881 matching the Queensland record.
Based on this I think Herbert Ralph is Herbert Arthur 1881-1956. His wife dying in Epping, which is about 12 miles from Romford makes this possible.DEATH: ASN Wikibase Occurrence # 18301

Based on his death GRO Index: Deaths Jun 1969 MONTEFIORE Herbert Ralph 24Je1924 Epping 4a 1870
He is born 1924 whereas Arthur, his father, died 1883. Or is the GRO Index incorrect as his wife is shown born 1888.

Born out of wedlock Peter Desmond Bullock but used the Lousada surname - I spoke to him in 2011 when he was 87. He was conceived on the Isle of Wight (he said) during a holiday romance. I have his birth certificate.
I phoned him again on 21 July 2011 - he has a son Clive Lousada 0432 693 910 formerly of Frankston Vic who has just moved to Perth
I reported all that I had found out
He said his mother used to show him a photo of his father, and that she wrote the Lousada name on the back of his birth certificate. He served in the British Army for 5 years under the Lousada name.Engineering inspector in Sydney according to Australian Electoral Rolls
