I think I have found the death of Frank Barrow as 26 March 1910 at Stratton Lodge, Culloden, Inverness, Scotland. I have proof that this person was born 1845 as his death record in 1910 shows him aged 65. I also have 4 1905 records showing him as a Tenant there.
There is also a Probate record which reads:
Barrow Frank of Stratton Lodge Culloden Inverness late lieutenent-colonel Indian staff corps died 26 March 1910 Confirmation of Ivor Richards Esquire and Etienne Hougonin solicitor Sealed London 30 April 1910.

had sister Alice Combe with whom 5 children lived in 1881Boyce Albert Combe (born August 28 1841) had throughout his military career a strong association with India. A former Cadet of the Honourable East India Company Army, he was gazetted a Cornet on August 27 1860, and was among the 21st Hussars in their early days (they were raised in 1862 from the 3rd Bengal European Cavalry). He was promoted to Lieutenant on May 3 1865. He took part in the 1866-67 Abyssinian campaign with the 3rd Sind Horse, and was present as the Orderly Officer to Colonel Fraser at the action of Arogee, and capture of Magdala (Medal). He then joined back the 21st Hussars, where he for some time held the appointment of Adjutant. On October 30 1871 he married Helen Edith (d. May 29 1892), daughter of Major-General Lousada Barrow, C.B. He was promoted to Captain on Februray 12 1873, and exchanged into the 10th Hussars - by then in India - on October 17 1873.
On March 13 1877 he left Bombay on board the Troopship Jumna for England, reaching Portsmouth on April 14, one day in advance on schedule after a sailing under favourable winds - though the Jumna was delayed when she called at Devonport, due to heavy fog. On June 7 1877, he was presented to his Colonel, the Prince of Wales, on the occasion of the Levée held at St. James's Palace.
Boyce Albert Combe will be awarded a Brevet of Major on November 22 1879. He will be seconded for service on the Staff on February 10 1880 (antedated to November 13 1879), as Deputy Assistant for the Quarter Master General, Bombay. He will be granted a Brevet of Lieutenant-Colonel on March 1 1881 ("in recognition of services during the late Afghan Campaign"), promoted to Major on July 26 1881, and to Colonel on March 2 1885. He will be appointed Military Secretary to the Commander-in-Chief in India on September 11 1885, and Commanding Officer of the 19th Hussars on February 12 1886. He will be placed on half-pay "on appointment to the staff" on October 23 1888, and will hold the Local and Temporary Rank of Brigadier General from January 9, 1889, whilst commanding the 2nd Class District, Bombay. He will be made a C.B.on May 25 1889, "on the occasion of the celebration of Her Majesty's Birthday". He will be placed on half-pay on expiration of his period of service in this appointment on April 18 1894, then appointed Commandant of the Cavalry Brigade at Aldershott on January 1 1895. He will become Major-General on March 18 1896, and will command the Curragh District in Ireland. He will be appointed a First Class District Commander in India on January 16 1900, and placed on retired pay on September 8 1903. He will be appointed Colonel of the 14th Hussars on July 9 1904, until his death (in India) on June 3 1920.BIRTH: Also shown as Born Honfleur.

Col in 10th Bengal Lancers - died at sea of wounds incurred in India
There are 2 1845 birth records one for the 31 Jan baptism of Seymour D Barrow on Norfolk Island and one for the 12 Aug birth and 19 Sep registration of an unnamed Barrow in Bothwell Tasmania. However in 1861 he is with Dr Benjamin Barrow in Ryde aged 15 with his brother Cecil Montefiore Barrow aged 17.
So there is a probable discrepancy here - if Seymour was born close to the beginning of 1845, the 1861 Census would need to have been conducted even earlier in 1861 to give him an age 15 at Census date. This is unlikely as the Censuses were generally taken around mid-year. Perhaps the baptism certificate is incorrectly dated 1845 and it should be 1846. In this case the birth in August 1845 is Seymour as then unnamed.
Samuel was in Norfolk Island during the latter stages of Major Childs' occupancy of the Governorship in 1846 and possibly continued on under Major Price, as the punishment of those involved in Childs' Riot of July 1846 (for which Barrow's actions appear to have been responsible) occurred under Price. Curiously, Price was later - in 1857 - murdered in Williamstown, an incident that Nicholas Shakespeare appears to attribute to Barrow - who of course died accidentally by drowning in 1854.
So it seems that the baptismal certificate is wrong - Barrow was in Norfolk Island in early 1846; and was in Tasmania in later 1845 when Seymour was born.
Curiously, Price was Inspector-General of Prisons in Victoria from Jan 1854 ie before Barrow drowned and while Barrow became Director of Immigration.
