Note: on 15 Jan 2021, John Bury advised that research last year by New Zealand academic Mathew Norman has revealed that several of these portraits are not by John Bacon Jnr, but by Mary’s husband Rev John. These include the drawings of Sarah, Bella, Frances/Fanny and the profile portrait of Mary herself. The 1837 drawing of Mary (full face) and of John Baruh are by JB Jnr.
